Georgia Medical Expansion : A new Georgia law dropped the restrictive "low THC oil" label, replaced percentage-based caps with a milligram dosing system, added qualifying conditions like lupus and IBS, and expanded access through pharmacies and dispensaries. Nebraska Confirms Medical : Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen signed permanent medical cannabis regulations into law, replacing a temporary framework set to expire July 15. Interesting Number : Vireo Growth announced a $20 million joint venture to acquire a Pennsylvania cannabis retail license, its 11th state market, as the company continues a dealmaking run that has grown its footprint to roughly 170 dispensaries and pushed 2025 revenue up over 250% to $268.7 million. The deal gives the company access to Pennsylvania's approximately 450,000 registered medical patients. Article
Record NYC Culture Budget : New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's first budget includes a record $323.8 million for the city's Department of Cultural Affairs — a 6% increase over last year's previous record. The budget also introduces a new $10 million Cultural Stability Fund to serve as an emergency resource for struggling arts organizations through 2029. Article
