Happy Friday!
Welcome back to The Weekly Roll! I hope everyone had a lovely week, here is what’s happening this week in cannabis and art:
Trulieve is Trading : Trulieve made history this week as the first U.S. cannabis company to list on the New York Stock Exchange, with CEO Kim Rivers calling it a turning point for the industry. The move follows federal rescheduling of medical marijuana and a corporate restructuring that separated Trulieve's DEA-registered medical operations from its adult-use business. Article
Sketchy Signatures : Signature gatherers for legalization-rollback campaigns in Massachusetts and Maine are being accused of misleading voters into signing anti-cannabis petitions by implying they support keeping marijuana legal. Both campaigns are largely funded by Smart Approaches to Marijuana, and organizers in Maine have already missed a signature deadline, while Massachusetts faces a July 1 cutoff and an ongoing legal challenge. Article
Interesting Number : Missouri's cannabis market set a new monthly record in May with $135 million in sales, up nearly 2% year-over-year, bucking a trend of flat or declining sales in mature markets like Colorado and Michigan. Adult-use now accounts for about 91% of all sales in the state. Article
The Global Game : The Guggenheim Museum will host free Friday afternoon World Cup livestreams this summer at a pop-up in its restaurant, alongside a screening of the 2006 art film Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait by Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno. The two-channel video follows the legendary French midfielder through a single 2005 match using 17 synchronized cameras, running on loop through July 19. Article
Have a great weekend!
