Republicans Attempt to Block Rescheduling : A House Appropriations subcommittee has advanced a spending bill containing a provision that would prevent federal officials from carrying out cannabis rescheduling — even as the Trump administration moves forward with the reform. The DOJ announced last week that state-licensed medical marijuana immediately moved to Schedule III, with a broader rescheduling hearing set for June 29. Article
2026 Farm Bill : The House passed the 2026 Farm Bill 224-200, keeping in place the November ban on intoxicating hemp products while tightening the definition of hemp to include total THC levels. Amendments to delay the ban or create a regulatory framework for hemp THC products were both withdrawn before reaching the floor, and the bill now heads to the Senate where further changes are expected. Interesting Number : Cannabis retailers saw a 46.9% spike in sales on 4/20 this year compared to last, with transactions up 73% from the previous day, according to online ordering platform Jane Technologies. Illinois led the way among established markets with sales up 44.5%, while Colorado, Nevada, and New Jersey saw slight declines. Flower remained the top-selling category at 43% of sales, followed by vape products and edibles. Article
Lucas Museum Reveal : The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles has announced its inaugural exhibitions, set to open in September, featuring around 1,200 objects spread across 30 galleries and curated personally by founder George Lucas. The galleries will span everything from Norman Rockwell and N.C. Wyeth to muralism, comics, cinema props, and documentary photography, celebrating what Lucas calls "the people's art." Article
