Happy Friday!
Welcome back to The Weekly Roll! I hope everyone had a lovely week, here is what’s happening this week in cannabis and art:
Tennessee Hemp Ban : Tennessee's Alcoholic Beverage Commission finalized rules that will ban the sale of THCA and most popular hemp-derived cannabis products starting July 1, closing a loophole that allowed hemp-derived intoxicants to be sold legally across the state. The ban is expected to devastate the industry — THCA accounts for an estimated 75% of hemp sales — and has already caused the state to slash its hemp tax revenue projections from $55 million to under $10 million. DEA Registration Complete :Cresco Labs announced it has registered its medical cannabis dispensary, cultivation, and processing operations with the DEA following federal rescheduling, marking the first such registration by a major multistate operator. The move takes advantage of the expedited 60-day DEA registration pathway created after medical marijuana was moved to Schedule III. Article
Interesting Number : 3 States. Nebraska joined Indiana and Louisiana in suing the Trump Justice Department over its order reclassifying marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III, arguing the agency bypassed standard rule-making procedures. The lawsuit is a notable contrast with the state's own voters, who overwhelmingly approved medical marijuana two years ago but have yet to see it implemented due to ongoing bureaucratic and legal delays. Louvre Heist Getting the Film Treatment : Last October's audacious Louvre robbery — in which two disguised thieves stole eight historic jewels worth $102 million in under eight minutes — is being developed into a feature film by French director Romain Gavras, with a potential 2028 release. A book on the heist also published today, and a separate British documentary series is reportedly in development as well. Article
Have a great weekend!
