Happy Friday!
Welcome back to The Weekly Roll. I hope everyone had a lovely week! Here is what’s happening this week in cannabis and art:
Ohio Public Feedback : A new survey of 1,638 Ohio adults shows strong support for cannabis dispensaries, with 47% backing new openings (compared to 28% who were opposed) and residents viewing them positively for economic impact as the state approaches $1 billion in sales. Despite this support, 130 municipalities maintain dispensary moratoriums affecting 1.7 million residents (14% of the state), even as Ohioans see positive impacts on the economy, environment, and quality of life. Heavyweights Battle over Hemp : Two major corporate factions are battling over the future of hemp beverages in Congress. Over 50 alcohol distributors oppose banning intoxicating hemp products, arguing that as alcohol demand declines, hemp has helped sustain their industry and should be regulated rather than prohibited. Meanwhile, the Consumer Brands Association—representing Coca-Cola, General Mills, Kraft Heinz and Nestlé—is pushing Congress to ban these products citing safety concerns.
